Monika Belke (born 1946 in Germany) has been involved in painting for more than 40 years—she primarily paints with acrylics on canvas and gouache on paper. Additionally, she experiments with different painting methods and color techniques to try new things and further develop her artistic expression.

For Monika Belke, painting is a constant companion in which experiences and events of daily life are reflected and artistically processed. The hidden forces and energies of our world provide the raw material for a newly emerging picture—because, in the end, it should not convey anything immediate, but rather touch the viewer deeply and unconsciously.

Monika Belke’s artistic training began in 1980, and she continues to educate herself at renowned art academies and with artists to this day. These include, among others, Sissi Edler, Rainer Kaiser, Alexander Jeanmaire, Peter Tomschiczek, the Bad Reichenhall Art Academy, the Augsburg Art Academy, and especially the Hoke School in Halbenrain / Austria.

Further ventures by Monika Belke include a painting school, art exhibitions, cooking and children’s books, book illustrations, as well as various art projects.

Monika Belke passed away on September 22, 2021, after a short, serious illness.
